Somatic therapy in FL & VA
You’ve tried everything you can think of to feel better, but nothing’s sticking.
Maybe you’ve been to therapy before, you’ve spent a lot of time talking about your challenges, analyzing when or how they started, or trying to change your thoughts from negative to positive,
But you’re still feeling…
Stuck in a continuous loop of stress and anxiety
Disappointed that the tools you have learned never feel like enough
Confused about where to turn for relief
Somatic therapy can help you find new ways to heal from the bottom up.
Challenging experiences that lead to big emotions do not solely impact our thoughts. Somatic therapy brings the body into treatment, helping us use movement and breath to restore a more balanced, regulated state of being.

I’ll begin by guiding you through a clear, approachable understanding of how the nervous system responds to stress, anxiety, overwhelm, and past experiences. Together, we’ll explore the connection between your body, emotions, and patterns of response so you can better understand what’s happening beneath the surface—not just mentally, but physically and emotionally as well.
From there, we’ll work collaboratively to develop practical, sustainable practices and habits that help regulate your nervous system, increase resilience, and build your capacity to navigate life’s challenges with greater steadiness and self-awareness.
Throughout our sessions, I integrate somatic practices that gently support you in noticing, processing, and releasing emotions that may feel stuck or held in the body, helping create a deeper sense of safety, connection, and ease within yourself.

Somatic therapy is designed to go deep into emotions, anxiety, or trauma and where they are held in the body. Thinking about emotions this way (or thinking about and moving your body at all) in psychotherapy might feel really different or even strange at first. We will incorporate somatic therapy at a pace that feels comfortable to you. If we find somatic therapy to be helpful in your journey, we will increase the use of somatic practices both in and out of therapy sessions.
Our work together will be active and collaborative. Along the way, I’ll offer practices and tools for you to use outside of sessions to help deepen your growth and support lasting change in daily life. My goal is to help you move beyond insight alone and experience meaningful, sustainable shifts in how you feel and live.

The brain is just one part of the body. Rather than focusing only on thoughts, somatic therapy offers practical, tangible ways to involve the body in the healing process. As you become more comfortable and find your rhythm with somatic practices, you may be surprised by how freeing, grounding, and empowering the experience can feel.
At the end of the day, I want you to know:
Whatever you’re moving through, gently inviting the body into the process can create profound and lasting shifts.
Is Somatic Therapy right for you?
Somatic therapy is a good fit for you if you…
Feel like you have a thousand ‘stress loops’ open and don’t know how to ‘close’ them
Often experience physiological symptoms of anxiety (raising heart, sweaty palms, tight chest, pit in your stomach)
Would love a ‘tool kit’ full of hands-on options in moments of anxiety, stress, or overwhelm
Feel stuck and are open to going beyond talking about your difficulties
