Brain Working Recursive Therapy® (BWRT®) in the US

Ok, so this video provides a good overview of BWRT®. I share the two aspects of BWRT® that originally drew me to this type of therapy, it was designed specifically for working with anxiety and it is solution focused, meaning faster than most therapies. As a therapist who specializes in anxiety, I loved that BWRT® works so clearly and beautifully with all of the different ways that anxiety can show up in someone’s life.

I then share that BWRT® was created by a man named Terence Watts in the UK. When I first learned about BWRT® and began searching for as much information on this type of therapy as I could possibly find, I had a really hard time finding much of anything out of the US. In the end, I did end up speaking with multiple wonderful clinicians who are using BWRT® in the US. Part of the purpose behind this BWRT® Video Blog is simply to add to easily accessible information on this type of therapy from a clinician in the US. (So, as a side-note, if you are a clinician learning about BWRT®, you are more than welcome to contact me. I would love to pay-forward the favor that each of the clinicians I spoke to did for me.)

Next I delve into what BWRT® is based on and how this type of therapy works. Here I talk about the neuroscience concepts behind BWRT® and the experiment that inspired the therapy. I provide an example of how BWRT® works using Social Anxiety.

Lastly I talk about how much I have enjoyed watching BWRT® successfully lead my patients to reach their therapy goals, as well as how much I love hearing all of my BWRT® colleague’s success stories. I then give an important disclaimer that BWRT® does not work for everyone. There is no therapy technique in the world that works universally for each and every individual. It is important to remember this when beginning any type of therapy treatment.
